The Verdict: Three eye popping and contemporary color choices makes this one of the best looking grills on the market. Solid construction and corrosion resistant materials lends longevity to this grill even in harsh outdoor elements. The not so “seasoned” burger flippers will still find grilling easier than ever with easy reading knob settings and a clear, readable temperature gauge. Easy on the eyes, but everything about this grill helps even moderately skilled grillers please every taste bud in the family too.
The Verdict: Weber’s Spirit line is perfectly suited for the griller who wants a quality, compact package and doesn’t need the high volume cooking capabilities of larger grills (no hot dog eating contests will be hosted on this guy). For family cookouts and moderately sized gatherings though, it can easily meet the occasion. This grill offers the materials of a high end grill (including a fade proof porcelain-enameled shroud that we love) in an incredibly compact and affordable package.
The Verdict: Gas fireplaces can never truly replicate the cozy warmth of burning tinder, and so is true for gas and charcoal grills. It’s not just our nostalgia, there are discernible differences in taste when it comes to charcoal vs gas or propane. It may or may not be “clean burning”, but if “good tasting” is the goal, coal brings an artful medium to the creative griller who knows how to use it well. Weber brings coal to the modern era in this unit packed with present-day features.
The Verdict: You won’t find a more feature rich grill at a more affordable price. Big knobs, large cooking area, and a lidded side burner (standard). While it might not be the prettiest grill on the block (though it’s not bad looking by any means), it can perform with the likes of grills three times the price. With its 7 inch wheels, getting this grill closer to the picnic or away from the basketball game is as easy as it gets.
The Verdict: Remember when tabletop grills were rinky-dinky? Cuisinart is changing that perception with this very sleek tabletop unit and optional stand. If Martha Stewart were tailgating, she’d be using one of these. Aside from being quite handsome, it's equipped with an electric ignition and two stainless steel side tables (a very competent substitute for your full time rig). Especially impressive is the ease in which this unit sets up and stows away. A triumphant entry into the tabletop / tailgating arena for Cuisinart.
